Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani is leaving Islamabad today on a three day official visit to Qatar to strengthen ties with the Gulf state in multiple areas.

He will hold talks with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa AlThani and Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al-Thani. He will discuss with the Qatari leadership the issue of import of Liquefied Natural Gas and finalization of transnational formalities to import LNG. During the Prime Minister visit the two countries are likely to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Pakistans Water and Power Development Authority and Qatars Ministry of Energy. The Prime Minister will take up the matter of absorbing Pakistani skilled labour in Qatar. He will also hold meetings with Qatari investors and businessmen besides addressing Pakistani community. Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani will also seek Qatars support to Pakistans bid to conclude a free trade agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council. The visit will open new vistas for enhanced mutual cooperation activating the existing structured mechanisms and institutional linkages.
