The United States has called for urgent steps to restore calm amid escalating tension between Israel and Palestine.
Talking to newsmen in Jerusalem after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterated US support for a two-state solution as "the best way" to bring security to the region.Blinken also had discussions with Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
