Speaking to the media in Multan on Monday, Maryam said she along with her father PML-N supremo and former premier Nawaz Sharif appeared before courts and joint investigation team (JIT) hundreds of times in the Panama Papers case.

“Everyone is asking a question as to why no action is being taken against Imran Khan? There are several cases pending against him such as Toshakhana, foreign funding and others but no one can touch this person,” she added.

She also accused former chief justices of Supreme Court Asif Saeed Khosa and Saqib Nisar of victimising the PML-N leaders.

“Whatever Khosa Sahib and Saqib Nisar did was victimisation. This double standard should end now.”

The ruling party leader referring to Toshakhana (gift depository) case against former PM Imran said he sold watches and other gifts in the market.

She also accused the ex-premier of money laundering. “But still on what basis are you [Imran] being granted bail [by court] because you are a politician?”

Referring to Imran’s tirade against establishment, Maryam said he had no problem with former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa and the establishment when was in power.

“Nawaz Sharif was the prime minister of the people not a prime minister brought [into power] by [former spy chief] General (retd) Faiz Hameed.”

Speaking about soaring food prices, the PML-N leader said despite the skyrocketing inflation, the spirit of the people is high.

Maryam said the IMF agreement negotiated by the PTI-led government is responsible for the inflation.

“IMF agreement has tied our hands. Even if we want, we cannot give relief at present, but we will reduce the inflation… Shahbaz Sharif is working day and night [for this cause].”
