Saeed AnwarSaeed Anwar was born on 6 September 1968 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. He is a renowned former Pakistani Cricketer (opening batsman). A left-hander, Anwar is most distinguished for scoring 194 runs against India in Chennai in 1997, then the highest, and currently the joint third highest individual score in a One Day International Cricket. He completed his graduation from NED University, Karachi in 1989 and professionally he is also an engineer. Saeed faced a personal misfortune in 2001, when he lost his daughter. As a consequence he turned to religion more seriously, became a member of Tablighi Jamaat. He made his come back to International Cricket after a long break and was one of the steadiest Pakistani batsmen in the 2003 World Cup, scoring two centuries. On 15 August 2003, he declared his retirement from International Cricket. He was an attacking batsman in one-day matches and setteled Test match batsman. Saeed Anwar scored 194 runs against India in 1997 and Charles Coventry (194*) shared the record for highest individual score in an ODI match, however it was overtaken by India's Sachin Tendulkar (200*) against South Africa cricket team on 24 February 2010 and Virender Sehwag's 219 against West Indies on 8 December 2011 at Indore. Saeed’s scored 11 100’s and 24 50’s in test matches and 20 100’s and 43 50’s in one day international cricket matches.
