In an exciting development, a new fleet of buses has arrived at the Karachi Port, signaling a promising addition to the People’s Bus Service in the city. The announcement made by PPP leader and former transport minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, who revealed that these buses procured under the directive of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The new buses are part of the People’s Bus Service’s Phase 2, and they expected to hit the city’s roads very soon. This initiative reflects the commitment of PPP to improve public transportation for the residents of Karachi.
Memon took to social media to share the news, saying, “A new fleet of Buses under the scheme of People’s Bus Service (Phase 2) reached today at Karachi Port. Brand new buses will be on the roads soon.”
These buses acquired by the Sindh government under the leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, highlighting the party’s dedication to enhancing public transportation in the region.
Furthermore, Sindh Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar has directed authorities to explore the possibility of extending the Green Line’s route to include Merewether Clock Tower and Pakistan Chowk in Karachi. This move is in line with the government’s efforts to expand and improve the city’s public transportation network.
During a recent meeting held on September 13, the provincial secretary of transport discussed the plan to extend the reach of the Red Line to Merewether Tower near the Native Jetty Bridge, further demonstrating the commitment to modernizing and expanding public transport options in Karachi.
